Our students have performed in the Trafalgar Square Big Dance, at Wembley Arena's Culture 8 festival, Olympia Move It Dance Exhibition and the London Olympic Opening Ceremony. As part of Big Dance, they are performing Dances of Spain at Westminster Library.
As a flamenco student you will initially learn the basic dance technique or way of moving and positioning of the body for Spanish dance. You will create simple fiesta style dances within a relaxed and fun learning environment.
As you progress, you will begin to understand the complexity of flamenco, learn rhythmical variations and interpretations of different palos or styles from all over Andalucia
Throughout your study, you will be encouraged to consider the importance of the music/dance relationship, and understand structural changes in choreography. You will also be encouraged to develop your own artistic quality in dance performance and perform in front of an audience with the group, if you wish!
