London Flamenco Show
Our latest show brings you a fusion of traditional and modern flamenco. The show boasts original music from the collaboration of two Andalucian singer-song writers from Jerez and Sevilla: with song and guitar performed by Fernando de Sevilla, Davile de Mané and dance by BBC Strictly Come Dancing flamenco dancer Sam Quy.
Davile de Mané was born into a flamenco dynasty from the neighbourhood of Santiago in Jerez de la Frontera: the family of El Niño Gloria, Fernando Terremoto, and El Tio Borrico. He started singing and playing flamenco guitar professionally from an early age. His style developed from traditional flamenco to an original flamenco and world music fusion. He has played in Flamenco Festivals in Spain and around the world. In the UK, de Mané has performed in numerous venues such as Ronnie Scotts, la Pena Flamenca de Londres, many UK theatres and Festivals including WOMAD and the Doris festival. Now, based in London, he has formed ‘Entre dos Rosas’ with Fernando de Sevilla and Sam Quy.
Fernando de Sevilla Born in Sevilla, Fernando began singing as a child inspired mainly by his father who played classical flamenco guitar. Other childhood musical influences include his close relatives and grand composers from the famalia Pareja Obregon. Fernando started singing flamenco naturally as a child and professionally from the age of 16 in flamenco peña clubs and concerts. He originally came to England collaborating with flamenco companies for shows including the reception of Tomatito and Estrella Morente at the Barbican. He has since performed his own compositions at Ronnie Scotts, Glastonbury and WOMAD festivals. The Times 5 star review of Carmen described his voice as the most striking singing.
Samanta graduated with distinction in Arte Flamenco from the Fundacion Heeren in Sevilla, Spain. She also holds MA Dance (distinction) from Laban Centre, London. Sam began dancing regularly in professional theatre shows and television from the age of eleven years and performed throughout Europe: with Suite Español Portugal, Teatro Sol Sevilla, Linz Design Centre Austria, Vinci Theatre France, Astoria Athens, and Royal Opera House Moldova. She danced in Carmen at the Royal Albert Hall, all UK regional opera houses and has been a dancer at the Royal Opera House for the past ten years with shows including Carmen, La Traviata, Der Walkure, Fidelio and Gotterdamerung. Her screen credits include the film and 3D movie Carmen, ads for Sky, BT, Haagan Dazs and San Miguel. She danced in BBC’s Manet documentary and Sam is the BBC’s flamenco dancer for Strictly Come Dancing.
